Free Exodus Session Tomorrow Night: Pharaoh’s Daughter

April 2025

Reader.

I realize Mother’s Day may not exactly be prime “checking emails” day, given how full life feels for some of us and, for others, perhaps quieter than we would like.

In any case, I listened to a podcast this week with the author of a new book called From Genesis to Junia. I haven’t read the book yet, but he was talking about a lot of the same things we’ve been learning together here over the years. Which is super encouraging, honestly. More and more people are becoming aware of how beautiful and significant the women in Scripture are.

One of the things he mentioned a few times was how incredible the women in Exodus are, and how he had never really considered that before. To which I add: NO KIDDING!! Every month, the women we’ve studied have completely blown me away. The Midwives, Moses' mother, Jocheved...

This month's study is no exception. While researching Pharaoh’s daughter, I came across something that genuinely surprised me. One of those “How have I never seen this before?” moments.

So, I thought I would offer up a chance for you to join me tomorrow night live on Zoom for the Pharaoh’s Daughter teaching.

I genuinely hope you can join us tomorrow night. It’s a “bring lots of paper, you’ll be taking lots of notes!” kind of night.

If you decide you would like to hear about the Midwives and Moses’ mother as well, those who register will also have access to the recordings and the various resources associated with the study.

April 2025 Reader. When we think about Mary, the mother of Jesus, most of us picture her in the birth of Jesus, or at the wedding in John 2, where she draws His attention to the need and speaks her final recorded words, “Do whatever He tells you” (John 2:5), or within the events of the resurrection weekend. But we see her one more time, in the upper room at Pentecost (this year, May 24, 2026). A beautiful YouTube documentary of a new artist piece If you want to sit with this part of her...

April 2025 Reader. This is a rewrite from last year. As Sabbath happens every week. While working on the Hearing Their Stories: Reading Guide, (for the podcast series found on Spotify here), I was struck by a note in my Bible: Psalm 92 is a psalm for the Sabbath—meant to be read every Sabbath. Imagine that. For thousands of years, every single Saturday (remember, Sabbath in Jewish tradition begins Friday at sundown and ends Saturday at sundown), Jewish people all over the world read Psalm 92....
