Insights from the work: what clients are navigating, what I’m learning, and ways to keep growing.

Reader,

What you'll find in this email.

1 - A short reflection from my “sandwich season” and a free Enneagram journaling prompt to help you name what you really need
2 - Transitions by Enneagram webinar TOMORROW! + 1:1 coaching bundle to help you move through change with clarity (replay available)
3 - The Vocare Holiday Coaching Group I’m joining - yes, your coach is coached.

I can’t remember which weekend it was—one of the many in this long “sandwich season” where my dad situation was critical, one of the kids needed extra attention, and something else was surely unraveling.

Neil looked at me and asked, “What do you need?”

I kinda just sunk and I found myself wondering out loud:

"What do I need vs what do I want vs what should I do vs what can I do?"

Then it hit me—there was one thing that answered all four.

A nap.

For some types, a nap would not be wisdom—it would be avoidance. But for me, a Type Three, a nap was the most honest form of surrender I could offer.

I’ve used those four questions ever since, in all kinds of scenarios. I’ve made you a small freebie—a guide called Those Four Questions,” with journaling prompts to help you notice what’s really needed in a season of overwhelm and the Enneagram hint for each Type.

Transitions, Change, and Clarity

If your life feels in-between right now—grieving something, beginning something, or unsure how to do both through the lens of your Enneagram type—I want to share the online course I’m most excited about.

My friend and colleague Matt Rhodes—a spiritual director and certified Enneagram coach (we trained together back in 2020)—is hosting an encore workshop tomorrow:

“The 3 Shifts That Help You Move Through Transition with Clarity and Compassion.”
🗓️ Tuesday, Nov 4 | ⏰ 4 PM Pacific | 🖥️ Live via Zoom | 🎁 Free (replay available)

If you’ve been navigating change and want to do it with more grounding and less striving, this session is gold. Register here. Everything Matt creates is fantastic—I can’t recommend his work with the Enneagram enough.

Alongside Matt’s course, I’m offering three one-on-one coaching sessions to help you integrate what you’re learning in real time 40% off through Nov 9

A Holiday Note from My Own Coaching Chair

Good coaches are coached coaches. This year I’m joining Danielle’s Vocare Holiday Coaching Group, because I know I’ll need it. The holidays have their own kind of beautiful chaos, and I want to meet it with rest instead of performance - especially with that new added role of grandma!

If you’d like to join me, she hosts this group weekly with a reflection and a reminder that we don’t have to move through the holidays alone.

What to Expect Next

Between now and the new year, I’ll be sending shorter, more frequent notes—little reflections, resources, and real-life Enneagram insights—to help us stay steady through the season.

I’ll also highlight a different 9 Lumens coaching special or collaboration—so, this week it's the two I’m personally engaging: Matt’s transitions course and Danielle’s holiday coaching group.

Next week watch for 9 Lumens alum events and another 40% off special.

Reflection for you:
What’s one honest need you could name this week—and what gets in the way of you giving yourself permission to meet it? Reply back and let me know!

p.s. Here are all the ways to work with me in one place.

Thanksgiving 2025 Insights Insights from the work: what clients are navigating, what I’m learning, and ways to keep growing. Reader, Just this morning, I was reading a devotion that asked a handful of fantastic questions — the kind that made me pause and think, “Oh… there’s something here.” But what did I do? I got up, made breakfast, and moved right on with my day instead of sitting with the questions for an hour and letting them take me deeper. And that’s exactly why coaching works. YES,...

Thanksgiving 2025 Insights Insights from the work: what clients are navigating, what I’m learning, and ways to keep growing. Reader, Okay — I’m finally doing it and I'm excited for it... After 5 years of coaching and a LOT of “one day I’ll create this…” , I'm officially launching The Enneagram Deepening Year. Here’s what I know after years of sitting with clients (and doing my own work): With the Enneagram, you never “arrive.” We’re always peeling back layers, noticing new things, and growing...

November 2025 Reader. Before we step into Advent and Christmas starts picking up speed — can I share something about Mary the mother of Jesus? Not the Mary in Nativity scenes, but the woman in Scripture whose twelve-year-old Son is missing for three days and absolutely unravels. I’ve read this passage so many times, but I had not saw her anxiety until now — it's not the “worried mother” version I had previously envisioned, but the kind of fear you feel in your body and don't have words for....
