If You’ve Ever Struggled With the Proverbs 31 Woman

August 2025

Reader.

Quick invitation here—

As part of the Women of Wisdom series I’ve been researching this year, there are two sessions I’ve been especially eager about for a long time. Years, really. Woman Wisdom from Proverbs who we covered last month, and tomorrow night we turn to the Proverbs 31 woman.

Alongside my study, I’ve started a short survey to hear what you think about her.

The research for both Woman Wisdom and the Proverbs 31 woman have taken me in directions I never could have guessed. Honestly, I don’t think I would have had the resources I needed to study them this way until now. Rabbi Fohrman—who I first encountered through the BEMA Discipleship podcast—was a huge influence on studying Eve. And his thoughts Proverbs 31 session? It’s been an earthquake—shaking up everything I thought I knew about her. In the best way...

So, I’m throwing it out there: if you’re free tomorrow night, I’d love for you to join us. All you need is a pen, paper and your Bible. Because you will be reading about another women in Scripture that will surprise you! (or at least it sure surprised me!!)

  • In person: Doors open at 6:30 (if you know where I live, come on by).
  • We go live on Zoom @ 7 pm: [Here’s the link to join]

If you’ve ever felt unsure, unsettled, or just plain curious about the Proverbs 31 woman, this is the session I most want you to come to.

If you have any questions or thoughts, I would love to hear from you!

May 2025 Reader. Two weeks ago, I did something I’ve never done in five years of teaching Illuminate: I canceled our July session. I felt like I was in a real-time lesson of what wisdom looks like—praying for wisdom about whether or not to lead a session focused on Lady Wisdom. My 82-year-old dad was in ICU on life support, heading into his third surgery in three days. I was with my mom, who had just celebrated her 78th birthday — it’s embarrassing now to admit I even considered teaching....
