Insights from the work: what clients are navigating, what I’m learning, and ways to keep growing.

Reader,

What you'll find in this email. (and probably a typo or two somewhere)

1. A short story about my Costco parking-lot meltdown
2. How Enneagram vices and virtues show us where we really are
3. Moving from vice to virtue with your core values—a free reflection and a 40%-off session to guide you (expires Nov 20th)
4. A hint at the next two weeks’ specials

The Parking Lot Reality Check

It’s amazing how quickly “holiday virtues” vanish.

One minute I’m singing car karaoke with Christmas carols (which I don’t start playing until after American Thanksgiving) and practicing “enjoying the season” ...the next minute, I’m in a Costco parking lot, someone steals my spot—true story from last year—and suddenly I’m not the picture of a joy-filled “Christian”.

I am guessing you’ve felt that yo-yo of grounded to frazzled in sixty seconds. Throw in my heavy Type 2 wing and a solid dose of my Type 9 stress pass, and I can go from helpful and kind to checked-out and done with it all before I even got out of my car.

The Vices & Virtues Mirror

One of the most helpful ways I’ve found to gauge how I’m really doing is to notice which side I’m living from—vice or virtue. The Enneagram gives us that mirror.

For me, as a Type Three, the vice is self-deceit and the virtue is veracity—or honesty.

What I’ve noticed this year is that my values—hospitality, integrity, and wonder—help me move from self-deceit toward honesty.

So when driving to Costco yesterday and finding the parking lot already full, I reminded myself of one of those three core values; I chose wonder with asking "How can I be curious about those around me?". It anchored me to how I want to be in (almost) every checkout line, every conversation, every full calendar week...and I actually bumped into someone I haven't seen for a long time.

That connection between vice, virtue, and values is exactly what I help clients explore in the Values & the Enneagram session.

The Enneagram & Values Session Special

The Values & the Enneagram workshops I held in May were among the most centering practices I’ve ever shared. So I’m re-sharing them this month—with one-on-one focus time for you and your values - 40% off. (use discount code COSTCO2025, expires Nov 20)

Whether you joined the spring workshops and want to refresh your values through the lens of the holidays, or you’ve never explored them before this one-on-one session is for you.

What Clients Have Said

“It gave me tools, exercises, and handles for actually taking the time to do the work of narrowing down my values for this season of life.”
Workshop Participant, Type 9
“Really put to paper what’s important to me and how I need to be intentional about nurturing those priorities.”
Workshop Participant, Type 2

If you’re wanting a steadier holiday season—consider this your invitation to come back to your values with me.

You’ll leave with clarity on the three values that matter most—and the awareness to notice when you’ve drifted.
40% off through November 20 with code COSTCO2025

This is the first of three holiday SPECIALS:
Next week: Enneagram Coaching for New Clients – 40% off (for one week only)
Week 3: 40% off 3-Session Coaching Package – to carry you through the holidays into 2026

Reflection for you:

What’s one value you most want to carry into the holidays this year?
Just hit reply and tell me—I read every response.

Thanksgiving 2025 Insights Insights from the work: what clients are navigating, what I’m learning, and ways to keep growing. Reader, Just this morning, I was reading a devotion that asked a handful of fantastic questions — the kind that made me pause and think, “Oh… there’s something here.” But what did I do? I got up, made breakfast, and moved right on with my day instead of sitting with the questions for an hour and letting them take me deeper. And that’s exactly why coaching works. YES,...

Thanksgiving 2025 Insights Insights from the work: what clients are navigating, what I’m learning, and ways to keep growing. Reader, Okay — I’m finally doing it and I'm excited for it... After 5 years of coaching and a LOT of “one day I’ll create this…” , I'm officially launching The Enneagram Deepening Year. Here’s what I know after years of sitting with clients (and doing my own work): With the Enneagram, you never “arrive.” We’re always peeling back layers, noticing new things, and growing...

November 2025 Reader. Before we step into Advent and Christmas starts picking up speed — can I share something about Mary the mother of Jesus? Not the Mary in Nativity scenes, but the woman in Scripture whose twelve-year-old Son is missing for three days and absolutely unravels. I’ve read this passage so many times, but I had not saw her anxiety until now — it's not the “worried mother” version I had previously envisioned, but the kind of fear you feel in your body and don't have words for....
