Eve, you ask? Yes!

Last year, teaching on Genesis brought a huge shift in how I think about Eve (well, all women really). I shared a learning from the original Hebrew text that changed everything for me:

  • When Adam was created, the verb yatzar (יצר), meaning “He fashioned,” was used—a common term for divine creation.
  • But for Eve’s creation, the verb banah (בנה), meaning “He built,” was used. This is the only time in Scripture where “build” is used to mean “create.”
  • Even more fascinating, banah is tied to binah (בינה), meaning “intelligence” or “wisdom.”

Eve was created with a unique capacity for wisdom.

And yet, most of us don’t think of Eve as “wise.” She’s often defined only by her sin. That grieves me. Imagine if someone thought of you or me only in that way! But thanks to Jesus’ forgiveness, we are not defined by our sin. I want to go back and look at how God created Eve—like us—in His image and uncover the wisdom God designed in Eve—and in us. The study will continue by uncovering Lady Wisdom's insights in Proverbs, Deborah's leadership in Judges, the discernment of Huldah in 2 Kings & 2 Chronicles, and Priscilla in Acts.

When: 10 Sessions The second Monday of the month from February 10th to November 10th.

Time: 7:00 PM

Where: The Living Room (Hybrid: In-person & Zoom)

Format: Lab-style sessions presenting discoveries and reflections. The interactive format encourages observations and insights from participants.

Recordings: Available for those unable to attend live.

What do you need?
I don’t hand out notes. Why? Because everyone processes differently and takes notes in their own way! This year, I’ll be providing specific reflection prompts to help you dig deeper. To make the most of these, bring a journal or some old-fashioned loose-leaf paper to create your own Learning Lab Journal. We’ll reference it often throughout the series.

Will there be homework?
Nope! I don’t assign homework—who’s got time for that?! You just show up ready to learn, wrestle with Scripture, and capture what the Holy Spirit speaks to you in your journal.

Where is the Living Room?
Literally, it’s my living room! Last weekend, I hosted a baby shower and somehow managed to fit 21 amazing women in there. So until we hit that limit, it’ll continue to be “the Living Room.” Once you’ve registered, I’ll send you the address.

I don’t live near you—how can I join?
We’ve got you covered with a hybrid model! Some women join via Zoom because it works better for them. Doors open at 6:30 PM (most people show up around 6:45), Zoom room opens at 6:50 and we start promptly at 7:00 PM. And if you can’t make it live, you can catch the recordings, which I’ll send out later in the week. They’re unedited, so you’ll get the raw, good stuff. 😊

This study welcomes both returning participants and newcomers. The "lab" environment offers a mix of teaching, reflection, and discussion, illuminating Scripture, women, and their stories.
