Happy first of the month and Canada Day!

Yesterday, I sat down with one of my favorite practices: a monthly reflection from the Full Focus Planner. I spend about 30 minutes on this; I don’t overthink it and just write what comes to mind. I also keep my planner, photos on my phone, and Bible journal nearby to prompt my memory. It's been a very beneficial practice, and I’m always surprised by what surfaces.

Over time, I’ve tweaked the questions to help me, as an Enneagram Three, incorporate feelings more authentically and let go of that “performance” mindset.

I’ve created a version with prompts for all the Types, which you can use as a free monthly reflection resource. I’d love to hear from you if you spend time with it!

In less than 50 days, our son will be getting married!!! I need and want the margin to enjoy all the beautiful moments that bridal showers and the wedding day bring. So, here's the freebie for you to work on if you'd like, and a heads-up that I’ll be "out of office" until September.

I am also taking the last three weeks of August off. I'll still check email occasionally, but coaching hours will be available again after Labor Day (or Labour Day, if you're Canadian and Happy Canada Day to you!).

You can follow me on Instagram for random thoughts, pictures (wedding pictures even!), and more.

Wishing you a wonderful summer!

...with you.

August 2025 Reader. Quick invitation here— As part of the Women of Wisdom series I’ve been researching this year, there are two sessions I’ve been especially eager about for a long time. Years, really. Woman Wisdom from Proverbs who we covered last month, and tomorrow night we turn to the Proverbs 31 woman. Alongside my study, I’ve started a short survey to hear what you think about her. What do you think about the Proverbs 31 Woman? The research for both Woman Wisdom and the Proverbs 31...

August 2025 Insights Insights from the work: what clients are navigating, what I’m learning, and ways to keep growing. Reader, Here’s what you’ll find in this email: (and probably a typo or two somewhere...) • Why journaling (or brain-dumping) works• A free guide with tips + prompts by Enneagram type• How journaling and coaching work together The case for journaling It only took two coaching sessions in one week to remind me: It's time to share my take on journaling again. For context—I...

May 2025 Reader. Two weeks ago, I did something I’ve never done in five years of teaching Illuminate: I canceled our July session. I felt like I was in a real-time lesson of what wisdom looks like—praying for wisdom about whether or not to lead a session focused on Lady Wisdom. My 82-year-old dad was in ICU on life support, heading into his third surgery in three days. I was with my mom, who had just celebrated her 78th birthday — it’s embarrassing now to admit I even considered teaching....
