October 16 evening & all day Oct 17, 2026.
An immersive weekend of learning, reflection, and community.
There has been no shortage of discussion about what Paul writes about women. But how did he actually work alongside them, and what could that tell us? There is more to the text than you have been taught. Take Junia and Phoebe, for example — each is mentioned only once in Scripture, but that single mention will surprise you. We’ll also look at specific words Paul uses to describe his female co-laborers, the same words he uses for men.
This Illuminate Immersive Weekend is an invitation to set aside time with the five teachings and activities so you walk away with a deeper, more grounded understanding of the women who co-labored alongside Paul and their context. We’ll spend time studying Priscilla, Phoebe, Junia, and more, examining their roles and contributions within the early church.
As we uncover these women, you’ll also have time to excavate your own life to reveal what has been shaping you. This immersive experience combines thoroughly researched learning and creative, reflective practices, so insights are integrated rather than left unfinished.
This teaching was first developed in 2021 and taught again at Rainier View Christian Church’s women’s retreat in 2025.
Why an Immersion?
It's designed for women who set aside extended time for themselves to engage the teaching and unpack what's emerging, rather than taking in content and moving on. This isn't teaching at you, telling you what to think. I'll share what I've found, and we'll work through it together: what stands out, what surfaces, what it means for you.
This Living Room Immersive is for you if you:
- value thoughtful learning over quick takeaways
- are open to reflection and shared conversation in small groups
- want time, individually and together, to work through what's surfacing, using integrative coaching formation exercises and activities
