November 20 and 21: walking into the holidays with Jesus first

Reader,

What if you walked into the holidays from a place of time with Jesus first, instead of trying to find a quiet moment with Him in the middle of them?

That could look like a table, good food, time to learn, time to reflect, and time to simply be with Him before the season takes over our lives. On November 20 and 21, I'm hosting one more Illuminate Immersive in Tacoma, WA: a weekend set apart, around a table, with only six seats.

Earlier this month, I hosted the first Illuminate Immersive, Women Who Co-Labored with Paul to Birth the Church. This week, one of the women texted me:

Hello my friend! Did I mention I'm still living off of my weekend at your house?! So grateful!"

She sent a picture of one of The Post-it Notes from the weekend.

This weekend isn't information for information's sake. The Post-it notes are one way we let the learning land, because as we uncover Junia, Phoebe, Priscilla, and Lydia and more, we uncover our own lives too and build a Post-it mosaic of who we are in Christ.

Here is some of what other women said:

"So beautiful to be with you all this weekend! I think it was such a sweet beginning to a new introspective season for me."

"Thank you, ladies; the time was truly so special for spirit, soul, and body. It's a beautiful restart for me, and I'm very grateful to Linda and all of you ladies. A very lovely time at the table too and so many good memories to cherish 🥰 The heart sings 🎶 💝"

What can you expect? One participant told me: "I would tell them to come prepared to learn, reflect, spend time with Jesus, relax, and eat good food. And that the time is filled with multiple modalities for learning."

Reader, We talk a lot about Enneagram types, but we don’t often get to hear the stories behind them. What shaped someone, what they wrestled with, and how knowing their type helped them grow. That’s what the Story Spotlights at the Spiritual Formation EnneaSummit offer. Each runs about 25 minutes, and each features a real person sharing a real chapter of their life. Stories like these...

Reader, If I’m honest, I don’t enjoy promoting myself, and as a Type 3 who spent my career before kids in marketing, public relations, and advertising, you’d think it would come easily. Admittedly, I thought it would be easier than it is (cue the self-preservation Type 3, the countertype that can look more like a Type 2). I was just on a walk with a dear friend who is a...

My relatives In prison with me Prominent among the apostles In Christ before I was Think about that for a second. Paul is telling us his relative Junia followed Christ before he did, in years when believers were being persecuted. And she was...
